How to Get your USCIS Fingerprints

The Law Office of Parviz Malakouti

If you’re applying for an immigration benefit from USCIS, you’ll likely get a biometrics appointment notice. This is an appointment to have your fingerprints taken at a USCIS Application Support Center (“ASC”) near you.

Once you’ve received your appointment notice, scan it and email a copy to your attorney (who should also be getting a copy of the notice directly from USCIS as well).

Attending the appointment is easy. Read the appointment notice and follow the instructions.

Also just remember three things ahead of the appointment:

  1. Mark your appointment in your calendar and arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of time.

  2. Bring a government-issue photo identification with you. If you don’t have one from the U.S. yet, bring your foreign passport.

  3. Bring the appointment notice itself with you to the appointment.

Once you’ve attended the appointment, you should get a stamp from USCIS on the appointment notice. Scan that notice page with the stamp and email it to your attorney.

That’s all! After that, you just sit back and relax, waiting for the next communication from USCIS regarding your case.
