Palau Digital Residency ID - To Request a Nevada Birth Certificate? (Field Report #31)

This article is part of our series exploring what exactly the Palau digital residency ID can be used for.

I made my 36th attempt to use the Palau digital residency ID in March, 2026.  

I tried to use the ID to obtain a Nevada birth certificate online through vitalchek. 

Result: Unsuccessful. 

Explanation: I ordered a copy of someone’s Nevada birth certificate on vitalchek.com as an authorized requestor. As part of the request, vitalchek asked me to upload a copy of a valid government issued ID. In response, I uploaded a copy of my Palau digital residency ID. Two days later, vitalchek.com responded with an email saying the form of ID was unacceptable. This attempted use of the Palau digital residency ID was unsuccessful. 

I’ll continue trying to use the Palau ID, and report the results here on Malakouti Law.
